William A Kelly

William Arthur Kelly, age 62, known to his friends as Bill, passed away at home on April 7th, 2021. Bill was born to Boyd Kelly and Barbra Kelly (Reed) on April 30th, 1958 in Dayton Ohio. He attended Springboro High School in Springboro, Ohio. He graduated in 1976. While a student at Springboro, he lettered in both Tennis and Golf. He attended Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio, where he was a member of the Excelsior Men's Society and Captain of the Golf Team. Over Bill's 40-year career in retail, he worked for many companies. He began and as a salesman for Rex TV and Appliance and worked his way to Regional Manager. He then spent many years at Alrenco, where he eventually rose Director of Operations. He served as Chief Operating Officer at serval startups, including New Avenues Rent to Own. He was for many years COO of ColorTyme Rent to Own in South Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. He ended his career as a store manager at Springfield Mattress in Springfield, Missouri. Bill was a member of APRO (Association of Progressive Rental Organizations) for many years and served on the board. Over the years, Bill was a mentor to many starting a career in retail. Bill married Linda (Deissinger) on June 19th, 1982. They had three children Thomas, Caroline, and Annabelle. Bill's parents Boyd and Barbra, preceded him in death. Bill is survived by his wife Linda and his three children Tom Kelly, Caroline Kelly, of Springfield Mo and Annabelle Fitzen of San Antonio Texas. He enjoyed Ohio State Football, golf, Major League Baseball, college basketball, fishing, and travel. Bill enjoyed staying a part of the Excelsior Men’s Society and visited his Ala mater whenever possible. He enjoyed being a mentor and he loved his family. He was a road warrior, and traveled to nearly all 50 states for work or pleasure. He was a member of Schweitzer United Methodist Church and loved the friends he made there. Bill is dearly missed by his family and friends who loved him. Memorials may be sent to Schweitzer United Methodist Church, 2747 E Sunshine St, Springfield Mo Heidelberg University in Bill’s name for the Excelsior Men’s Society and or to Heidelberg’s University Men’s Golf organization; Heidelberg University, 310 East Market, Tiffin, Ohio 44883. Family Directed Services Friends may greet family to express condolences prior to his memorial service, May 1, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Schweitzer United Methodist Church 2747 E Sunshine St, Springfield, MO 65804. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM. Mr. Williams Kelly’s care has been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home Ltd, DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory of Springfield Missouri.
