Han Ching Chin Obituary

On April 1, 2021, Han Ching Chin (age 98) of Rockville, MD passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. She joins her beloved husband, Wee Lai Chin, who preceded her in death. Han is survived by her four children, Jennie (Victor), John (Christina), Henry (Cece), and Edward, twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, two sisters, two brothers, and many nieces and nephews. Born in China, Han immigrated to the United States after World War II. She taught herself to be a chef by working at various restaurants and in 1971, she opened Chin & Lee Chinese Carry-Out in Kemp Mill, MD. Her hard work and dedication (and delicious miniature egg rolls) led to twenty years of success at Chin & Lee. Although life was not always easy, she met all of her challenges with strength and determination. Han loved her family and was committed to keeping them together, as well as to keeping family traditions alive. She was loved by many and will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chinese Community Church, 500 I Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001 or The Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, P.O. Box 17029, Baltimore, MD 21297-1029
