<p><em><strong><span style="font-size:22px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">Douglas James Swindell, 59, formerly of Framingham passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 4, 2021 with his loving family by his side after a sudden illness.&nbsp; Born in Melrose, he was the son of the late William H &amp; Joan C. (Venezia) Swindell.&nbsp;</span></span></strong></em></p> <p><em><strong><span style="font-size:22px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">Douglas was a 1979 graduate of Framingham North High School, and a 1983 graduate of Bentley College with a degree in Finance.&nbsp; He began his career in the banking industry before quickly finding his passion in the entrepreneurial world of restaurant and entertainment start-up business.&nbsp; Having worked locally in the Framingham and Boston area at various venues, Douglas moved to CA to help start-up a restaurant and entertainment business with a close friend.&nbsp; After a few successful years in CA, Douglas moved to Maui, HI to again start-up restaurant and entertainment businesses.&nbsp; During his time in Maui, in addition to making many friends, he found enjoyment in horseback riding and attending rodeos. Douglas&rsquo; biggest enjoyments were spending time with his family and looking for his next adventure.&nbsp; A devastating automobile accident in October of 1999 eventually brought Douglas back home to the Boston area to live out his remaining years with his beloved family and friends.&nbsp;</span></span></strong></em></p> <p><em><strong><span style="font-size:22px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">Douglas is survived by his son Samuel Roberts, sister Donna Swindell-Peloquin &amp; her husband Paul of Franklin, brother David W. Swindell &amp; his wife Karen of Milford, and his stepsister, Susan Grant-Romaine &amp; her husband Douglas of Riverview, FL.&nbsp; He was the loving and fun uncle to, Nicole Hutchinson, James Staruk-Peloquin, Jennifer Johnson, Christopher Swindell (late) and Brian Swindell, and a great uncle to many nieces and nephews.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></span></strong></em></p> <p><em><strong><span style="font-size:22px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">Family and friends will honor and remember Douglas&rsquo; extraordinary life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney &amp; Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Friday April 9th from 5 -8 PM. Proper social distancing and mask wearing etiquette will be required. &nbsp;Those attending his graveside services will gather at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 9 o&rsquo;clock to process to Edgell Grove Cemetery for 10 AM. &nbsp;</span></span></strong></em></p> <p><em><strong><span style="font-size:22px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Douglas&rsquo; name to the Brain Injury Association of America, <a href="http://www.biausa.org">www.biausa.org</a>.</span></span></strong></em></p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Doug surely was one of a kind! Always a big smile and laughter, with this guy! He will be sadly be missed but his memories live on forever. Rest In Peace buddy 🙏 God’s got another Angel !
