<p>Robert M. Nixon, 89, of Winslow, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville.&nbsp; He was born February 12, 1932 in Winslow to Malcolm and Bertha (Gore) Nixon. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He had lived in the Winslow area all of his life and owned his own excavating business. He was a member of the Eagles of Oakland City, the American Legion of Oakland City and the Masonic Lodge.</p> <p>Robert is survived by his daughters, Christine Winkler (Tim) of Philpot, KY and Cindy Lowery of South Dakota; son, Les Nixon (Julie) of Winslow; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson (Giselle), Jason Winkler (Kristi), Jesse Nixon (Nicole), Josh Barnett and Lindsey Nixon (Travis); and 12 great grandchildren.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Janette Nixon in 2009.</p> <p>A private service will be held at Blackfoot Cemetery in Coe, IN with Military Honors by Retired Military Veterans.</p> <p>Memorial contributions may be made to PAWS Animal Shelter, 4224 N.
