Daniel R. DiSalvo Riverhead , New York Obituary

Daniel R. DiSalvo

Our son, Daniel, brother to Nicholas, friend to Charlie passed away on Easter Sunday and leave a tremendous hole in our hearts. He will be also be forever missed by his grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends. Danny was a caring, sensitive, and intelligent man. In high school he was a proud member of ROTC as well as the school theater group. In college he developed an interest in politics and social justice and was passionate about his opinions. He did not suffer idiots well. He had an incredible connection with animals and could literally talk a bird out of a tree. He was a self-taught musician and a stand-up comedian. He was the bravest man I ever knew. He was always up to the challenge. He had a kindness inside which you couldn’t miss. With his curly hair and sly smile, he could light up a room. He was the good Samaritan and the kind stranger who helps those in need. It was no surprise when he came home a couple of years ago and announced proudly that he had signed up as an organ donor. After his passing, we were told his donation could save the lives of up to seven people. As we cried over Danny’s passing, families were thanking God for the gift of life that Dan had granted them. Because of these gifts, one of these recipients might be a firefighter who saves the life of someone in a burning building or a life guard who saves a drowning child, or maybe a doctor who discovers the cure for seizures. Who knows what this world be like if Dan had not been born. Danny faced adversity with hope, and fear with courage. He rushed into this world and regrettably rushed out. We pray that God takes good care of him, and gives comfort to his family and friends. Our hearts are broken but we kept the pieces. For now, we say, “Good night sweet prince, and let choirs of angels sing thee to thy rest. Terry-Ann Connelly James A DiSalvo Nicholas A DiSalvo Charlie Charzuk
