Aloysius (Al) W. Milek Jr. from Muskego, WI lost his battle to cancer on March 15th, 2021. Born October 10, 1944, to Aloysius and Bernadette (nee Britton) Milek in Mineola, NY. He was the oldest of five children.
Al married Barbara Wahl in 1972. The couple moved to Selden, NY. Al dedicated his life to the Boy Scouts. He was a scout leader for over 40 years. He spent a majority of his years of service with Troop 229 in Selden, NY.
In 2005, Al and Barbara moved to Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina after their retirement.
Al received a heart transplant after a major heart attack in 2006. Al then became a strong advocate for organ donations. He participated in numerous Transplant Games, winning medals for swimming and running. Al always did one lap around the track in honor of his donor. One of his proudest achievements was going to the Winter World Transplant Games in Switzerland held in 2018. Al’s motto was to always celebrate life and it’s something he did each and every day.
Al was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Bernadette Milek. His beloved wife Barbara Milek (nee Wahl) also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his two children and their families: Stephen (Heather) Milek of Oak Creek, Wisconsin and Jennifer Marie Poole of Lakehills, Texas. He is also survived by his four Grandsons: Alexander and Zachary Milek, and Gary and Mason Poole. Al is also survived by his siblings, Warren (Kathleen) Milek, Trudy (Kurt) Kosavich, and JoAnne Milek.
