<p>Clyde Wehunt Jr. 69, of Cherryville died Sunday, April 4, 2021 at his residence. Born November 6, 1951 he was the son of Clyde Wehunt Sr. and Julia Wehunt.</p> <p>Clyde retired from NCDOT Lincoln Co. in 2008. </p> <p>He is survived by his wife of 21 years Ruby Wehunt. a step-daughter Amy Auten Smith (Mark) and step-son Kevin Auten (Suzanne).<br /> Four step grandchildren and four great-step grandchildren. A sister Patsy Peeler, Brother Raymond Wehunt (Cindy). A sister and brother in law Kay and Gene Hice and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.</p> <p>Preceding him in death are his parents Clyde and Julia Wehunt and a brother-in-law Harry Peeler.</p> <p>The family would like to thank Hospice of Lincoln County.</p> <p>To honor Clyde' life memorials may be made to Hospice and Pallative Care of Lincoln County 900 Donita Dr. Lincolnton, NC 28092.</p> <p>A Memorial Service for Mr. Wehunt will be held at 2:30PM Sunday July 25th, 2021 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel.
