He is survived by his wife Homa; two children, Amir and Lilly and their spouses Paula and Mark; and three grandchildren, Gavin, Scarlet, and Dimitri.
Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, on Saturday, April 10, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Guests are invited to the home of Amir and Paula for light refreshments at 4:30 pm.
Farhad lived on three different continents: Asia, Europe, and North America. He was fluent in three languages: Farsi, German, and English and was formally educated in Cologne, Germany. Above all, he was a family man and loved his children and grandchildren dearly. He loved music and gardening and was passionate about art--both admiring and creating. During his lifetime he painted more than one hundred abstract pieces.
His favorite days were the ones he got to spend with his family, ending with a viewing of an old Western.
