Abingdon, Va. – Timothy Harrell (Tim) Parish, age 64, passed away at his home on Monday April 5, 2021, following a lengthy illness. Tim was a retired supply clerk at Jewell Smokeless Corporation. He was a 1974 graduate of Grundy Senior High School, and he attended Southwest Virginia Community College. He was a member of Buchanan First Presbyterian Church in Grundy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Polly Parish. Tim is survived by his loving wife, Teresa; one brother, Bill Parish and wife Jennifer of Grundy, Virginia; two sisters, Julia Jennings and husband John of Richlands, Virginia, and Jane Rife and husband Gary of Badin, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Monday, April 12, 2021, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM, with Pastor Bill Neeley officiating.  Covid-19 guidelines will be followed, which includes wearing of masks, social distancing, and adherence to occupancy rules.
