<p>JACK C. CAPPS, JR., age 58, of 65 Scotland Place, Roxboro, NC died Friday night, April 2, 2021.</p> <p> </p> <p>Mr. Capps was born October 19, 1962 in Cumberland County, NC, son of Jackie Cameron Capps, Sr. & wife, Jane of Wilmington, NC, and Agnes Therisa Bunce Harris of Raeford, NC all of whom survive. He started his career with Boddie-Noell Enterprises, then Oakwood Homes, and eventually started his own business, Sale Away Investments, LLC as a real estate investor. He was a member of New Life Independent Baptist Church, served with the My Life Matters Impact Team, and with the Lamplighter Ministries. Jack enjoyed cooking, sailing, the beach, golf, shagging, and spending time with family and friends. </p> <p> </p> <p>Surviving in addition to his parents are a daughter, Jordan Capps Myrick & husband, TJ of Wendell, NC, ten siblings, Jill Capps Cannady (Mike) of Cary, NC, Dean Waitis Capps of Rougemont, NC, Darlene Capps Lumpkin (Mike) of Bahama, NC, Jason Cameron Capps (Emmy) of Rocky Point, NC, Debbie Dees Ray (Bob) of Laurinburg, NC, Darrell Dees (Patti) of Maxton, NC, Barbie Coble (Mark) of Ooltewah, TN, Marie Harris McBryde, Jerry Harris (Pam), Diane Harris Monsour all of Raeford, NC, and twenty nieces and nephews. </p> <p> </p> <p>Mr. Capps is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dallas Capps & Pearl Sykes, maternal grandparents, Wesley & Ophelia Bunce, two step-fathers, Fred “Pete” Harris, Kenneth Dees, and nephew, David Harris.</p> <p> </p> <p>Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Tim Bowes officiating. Interment will follow in the Raeford Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.</p> <p> </p> <p>Pallbearers will be Carl Capps, Jason Capps, Dennis Daniels, Craig Hicks, Mike Lumpkin, and Seth Lumpkin.</p> <p> </p> <p>In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to My Life Matters, 80 Danwin Lane, Roxboro, NC 27573.</p> <p> </p> <p>Arrangements are by Strickland and Jones Memorial Funeral Services, 1810 Durham, Road, Roxboro, NC 27573.
