Maria "Mary" C. Clark Obituary

Maria "Mary" (Giordano) Clark, 92, of North Providence, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, after a long illness.  She was the beloved wife of the late George T. Clark.  Mary was born, raised and lived in North Providence her entire life. She was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Carmina (Cardente) Giordano, and sister of the late Anthony Giordano.

Mary was formerly employed by the J.C. Hall Company, American Tourister as well as other business establishments.  Mary was a talented seamstress, a gifted cook and baker who enjoyed cooking for her family.  Mary also loved tending to her garden which included beautiful flowers and vegetables for her family to enjoy.  Mary was a dedicated and loving mother who was widowed at a young age and as a single parent, brought up her two daughters, Sharon and Sandra.  Mary went on to be a treasured grandmother and great-grandmother.  She will always be remembered as a loving, caring person who also loved to laugh and lived her life with grace and dignity.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Petrone and her husband David of Harrisville, RI, and Sandra Clark of North Providence and her fiancé Paul Filippo; a brother, Frank Giordano; a sister, Hilda Giordano; four grandchildren, Dawn Petrone, David Petrone, Natascha Nickson and her husband Michael, and Tanya Petrone and her fiancé Jack Aldrich; three great-grandchildren, John Murphy, Ashley Murphy, Charlotte Nickson, and several nieces and one nephew.  Mary also leaves her grand-dog Shiloh, who introduced her to the love of pugs.

The family would also like to thank Mary’s caregivers Pilah and Darlene, and the staff at Heritage Hills, and Beacon Hospice for the love and care they provided.

Visiting hours will be  Saturday 9:00 – 10:30 am at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence.  Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
