Sophia Jean Paynter, “Jean” (née Zatorskis), passed away, on April 4, 2021, at the age of 83. Jean was born in Lithuania and came to the United States at the age of 12, settling in New York City and later, residing in Jersey City. Jean was a long time and devoted employee of Hudson City Savings Bank, 5 Corners Branch in Jersey City, for thirty four years, retiring in 2012. Jean is survived by her loving children, Dawn Cummings, Pamela Cavanaugh, Jessie Paynter, Floyd Paynter, Roger Cummings and James Paynter. Also surviving are many cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at McLaughlin Funeral home on Friday, April 9, 2012, from 5 to 8 PM. Due to CDC recommendations, all are required to wear a face mask and to practice social distancing. Cremation will be held privately. Cremation will be held privately.
