Obituary
Perry Elmer Long, 81, of Marble Hill, Mo., died at his home on April 4, 2021. Born in the Mayfield community of Bollinger County on January 20, 1940, he was the son of Elvin Gordon and Freedie Mrytle Cook Long. He first married Lois Emigene Thorne. She preceded him in death in 1974. In 1977 he married Gertrude Marie Jessen. She died in 2020.
He was a self-employed truck painter for over 50 years. Other interests included participating in shooting matches, hunting, fishing, 4-wheeler, cars and painting cars. He visited with everyone he met.
He is survived by two daughters: LeAnn (Rodney) Abernathy and Michelle (Elmer) Sides; five sons: Rodney (Christine) Davis, Brian (Julie) Long, Bobby (Tammy) Sizemore, Keith (Amanda) Long, and John Stotts; grandchildren: Perryann and Marissa Davis, Desera and Rodney Jr. Abernathy, Melanie and Trudy Davis, Destiney, Shannon, and Dakota Long, Josh and Brock Long, Sheri Hopkins, Bobby and Trent Sizemore and Nathan Beardslee; great-grandchildren: Lamontez and Makiya-Ann Gammon, Raylin, Jayden and Kaiden Whipfler, Emma and Skylar Anderson, Jack and Ella Long and Kimber and Piper Sizemore; and a sister, Elcie Pulliam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, one brother, Calvin F. Long; and three sisters: Clodine Statler, Juanita Seabaugh and Betty Green
.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 8, 2021, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 9, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Scott Cook will officiate. Burial will
follow in Pulliam Cemetery near Patton.
