Gwenllyn "Kitsie" Crabbs Obituary

Gwenllyn “Kitsie” Crabbs, 90, of Westminster, and a former resident of Lorien of Taneytown, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Golden Crest of Westminster surrounded in love by her family. Born March 4, 1931 in Tucson, Arizona she was the daughter of the late Warren G. and Frances Allan (Myers) Scott. She was the cherished wife of the late Kenneth E. Crabbs whom she married on June 9, 1950 and who predeceased her on April 1, 2015. Kitsie was employed for the Carroll County Board of Education where she worked as a cafeteria aide, primarily at Westminster High School, until her retirement. She was a member of the Carroll County Historical Society and St. John Catholic Church. Kitsie’s family meant everything to her, and she was the catalyst that kept everyone together. She was a dedicated mother and especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving her are children and spouses Thomas W. and Sharon L. Crabbs, Michael E. and Linda Crabbs, Theresa “Terry” and Tony Baer, Harriet and Joe Mathias all of Westminster; grandchildren Natalie Crabbs Mollett, Tyler Crabbs, Jennifer Middleton, Christine Kolbe, Jill Baer Palmerino, Ryan Baer, Kimberly Mathias Mann, and Katie Mathias; great-grandchildren Tony and Vincent Palmerino, Logan and Keira Middleton, Kallen Kolbe, Owen and Tyler Mann, Thomas and Tanner Crabbs; sister Harriet Scott and sister-in-law Dorothy Scott. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by siblings Jack, Jerry, LuAlice, and Francis. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 8th at 12 Noon, with a visitation one hour prior to the start of services.
