Paul Biscoe Hammett, 70, of Hagerstown, MD., passed March 31, 2021. He was born January 3, 1951 to the late William Lusby Hammett and Gloria Joan Yeatman. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lauren Hammett, sister, Virginia Mercer and grandson, Andrew Hammett. Paul will be remembered as a beloved father and grandfather, carpenter and jack of all trades, lover of classic rock legends like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, and a US Navy veteran, who believed that “life is too short to drink bad beer.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Hammett and sister, Leslie Hammett.
A Viewing will be held on Sunday, April 11th from 1-4pm and 6-8pm at the Slack Funeral Home, 3871 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21043. All are welcome. A Vigil Service will be held that evening at 6:30 for prayers and recalling the life of the deceased. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Monday, April 12th at 11am at St. Louis Catholic Church, 12500 Clarksville Pike (Rt. 108), Clarksville, MD 21029. Interment will occur at St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery immediately after the liturgy.
