Mr. Fred Kuhns age 60 of Lafayette was pronounced deceased at 12:40 a.m. Sunday morning April 4, 2021 at his Joyce Circle home under the care of Avalon Hospice. Mr. Kuhns was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where services were conducted on Friday afternoon April 9th at 1 p.m. Mr. Kuhns pastor Bro. Jackie Dawson officiated at the services. Mr. Kuhns was cremated at the Cumberland Family Services in Algood. One of seven children, he was born Fred Quintin Kuhns in Long Beach in Los Angeles County, California on May 29, 1960 and was the son of the late Fred Clinton Kuhns and Jeanie Lynn Donovan Kuhns. Two brothers preceded him in death, Jerry Kuhns and Kelly Kuhns. Mr. Kuhns was a 1978 graduate of Victor Valley High School in Victorville, California and attended a technical school for two years. On April 25, 1981 he was united in marriage in Las Vegas, Nevada to the former Amy Rae Fisher. The family relocated to Carthage in 1998 and he was employed with Crockett-Phillips Construction Company in Gordonsville before beginning employment with AAA-Cooper Trucking Company as a truck driver. Mr. Kuhns was a member of the Carthage Full Gospel Church. Surviving in addition to his wife of almost forty years are four children, Joshua Kuhns and wife Heather of Gordonsville, Samantha Kuhns and companion Shane Bentley of Lafayette, Misty Kuhns and companion Thiago Meira of Murfreesboro, Nick Kuhns and companion Zoey Jones of Red Boiling Springs; three sisters, Cheri Sechrist and husband Jay of Atascadero, Californio, Debbie Stafford of Mount Juliet, Penny Orr of Lafayette; brother, Mike Kuhns of Carthage; seven grandchildren.
