Jeanne was born on May 25, 1948, in Iroquois, SD, to Robert and Marge (Rounds) Blue. She graduated from Iroquois High School in 1966 and received her teaching degree on August 14, 1970, from Northern State University. She married the love of her life, Richard Webb, on August 15, 1970, and they raised two daughters, Kristi and Erica, and one son, Ryan. She was a beloved teacher to many in the Aberdeen Roncalli School System for 22 years.

Jeanne and Rich were inseparable and took very good care of each other throughout their 50 years of marriage. There is not much they didn’t love to do together, with some of the most notable being camping, playing card games and cribbage, going for walks, visiting cemeteries, and reading (she often read 10 books a week). She loved watching her kids and grandkids in their sporting events.

Jeanne was an avid walker, walking over 8 miles a day, in August 2020 she hiked to the top of Black Elk Peak with her son and grandkids - She was so proud of that accomplishment. She loved her weekly “teacher coffee,” her bible study group, 4 p.m. card games with her husband and friends, Terry and Pete Larson, and traveling with Rich and friends. She was saving for a trip to Rome, Italy, when she passed.

Jeanne was a hospice volunteer for 15 years, helping many make their final journey home and befriending those left behind. She was known for her encouraging nature, love of family and compassionate spirit as well as hiding chocolate and white bread from Rich, sneaking candy to her grandkids and always making hot chocolate when camping.

Blessed to have shared in Jeanne’s life are her husband of 50 years, Richard Webb of Aberdeen; their daughters, Kristi (Bill) Hauck and grandsons, Tanner, Hunter and Jackson, all from Sioux Falls, SD; Erica (Bob) Belzer and granddaughter, Mia, and grandson, Ari, all of Medina, MN; their son Ryan (Amanda) Webb and granddaughter, Taige, and grandsons, Teigen, Tyler and Traedyn all of Sioux Falls, SD; Jeanne’s mother, Marge Blue of Iroquois, SD; Jeanne’s 14 Siblings: Gary (Gaea) Blue, Terry (Mary Kay) Blue, Greg (Diane) Blue, Peggy (Dean) Maas, Rod (Patty) Blue, Connie (Dale) Cook, Karen Bohlander, Patty (Brian) Wohnoutka, Doug (PJ) Blue, Robert (Sheryl) Blue, Laurie (Mark) Gunderson, Tim (Ann) Blue, Michael (Michelle) Blue, and Steve (Shari) Blue. She will also be fondly remembered by her in-laws: Roberta (Webb) Williamson, Lawrence (Linda) Webb, Dean (Ruth) Webb, and Thomas Webb; life-long friends, Terry and Pete Larson; numerous fellow teachers and students at Roncalli, friends, aunts, uncles, and over 100 nieces and nephews.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her father, Robert Blue; her mother-in-law, Irene Webb; father-in-law, Orville Webb; and dear friends, Jeanne Pavlik and Pam White.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Jeanne Webb Memorial Library Fund. Please send to Roncalli High School, 1400 N Dakota St., Aberdeen, SD 57401.
