Sept. 17, 1959 - April 3, 2021 St. Louis - Mary “Lisa” Bussmann Hackmeyer, 61, of St Louis, passed away unexpectedly in a scuba diving class on Saturday, April 3. Lisa was born on September 17, 1959 in St Louis to Aloysius Bernard, Jr & Peggy Augustine (Gibbons) Bussmann. On November 26, 1994 in St. Louis, she married the love of her life Bruce Hackmeyer who preceded her in death last October 2, 2020. Left behind to cherish Lisa’s memory are her two brothers Stephen (Kathy) Bussmann of Granger, IN & Michael (Cheryl) Bussmann of Southlake, TX, her six beloved nieces and nephews, Matthew (Kristen) Bussmann of Littleton, CO, Margaret “Maggie” (Jonathan) Dismuke of Humble, TX, Katherine “Kate” (Dan) McCarthy of Lantana, TX, Erik, Austin & Luke Bussmann of Southlake, TX , her eight great-nephews & niece, stepson Timothy Hackmeyer of Castle Rock, CO & his two daughters Charlotte & Emma, and sister-in-law Judy (Carl) Ward of Washington, MO. Lisa also leaves behind many most beloved first cousins from the Connelly, Bussmann, Gund, Herbst, Sullivan, & Schwetye, families. Lisa had a great love for family, her golden retriever “children” Wilbur & Murphy and her many friends. she loved to host and throw parties for them all. Lisa was always a warm & welcoming hostess! Lisa & Bruce had a great love for music, especially Wide Spread Panic, and spent the last several years following them around the world and attending their concerts. They developed many new friendships from this group & enjoyed “dancing to the beat” of these friendships! Lisa was a most loving & generous person. She had a great love for reading & movies. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her & loved her. Memorial Mass will be Fri., July 23, 10 am at Ste. Genevieve duBois Church, Warson Woods, with visitation beginning at the church at 9 am. Condolence photos & memories may be left for the family at www.boppchapel.com Memorial contributions in Lisa memory may be made to a mental health org, American Heart Association, or a Golden Retriever Dog Rescue Mission of your choosing.
