Roland E. Mongeau, 88, passed away Sunday January 29, 2017. He was the husband of the late Rita J. (Bender) Mongeau. Born in Lincoln, he was a son of the late Henri and Albina (Vigard) Mongeau. Mr. Mongeau was a mechanical engineer since 1957 and worked at the American Tourister Co. before retiring in 1995. He studied engineering at Brown University and received his Bachelor Degree and MBA from Bryant College. He lived in Cumberland for 46 years before moving to Chepachet in 1999. He is survived by his children, Deborah J. Mongeau of Warwick, Lynn C. Viveiros and her husband David of Burrillville and Lance E. Mongeau and his wife Christine of Chepachet. He was the grandfather of Jonathan Armstrong, Elayna Carpenter and Robert Mongeau. He is also survived by 3 great-grandsons and was the brother of the late Rita, Terese and Henry Mongeau. His funeral will be held Friday February 3, 2017 at 8am from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Home, 643 Putnam Ave. (Rt.44) Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Eugene Church, 1247 Putnam Pike, Chepachet. Burial will be in Acotes Hill Cemetery, Chepachet. Visitation Thursday February 2, 2017 from 5-8pm.
