April 2nd, 2021 witnessed the passing of Judith Hedstrom Bulgarelli. Judi went to Christ praising His name in the presence of her loving family on Good Friday, April 2nd. Judi was born in Minneapolis MN on December 30, 1941. Judi and husband, Dr. Dennis Bulgarelli began their courtship in 7th grade at Saint Patrick’s in Iowa City, Iowa. The year was 1953. They were as “one” for 67 years. Judi lost her battle with cancer as it took her life unexpectedly. Married in 1961, Judi gave up her collegiate studies to work as a secretary paying the way through dental school for Dennis. In 1967 she got her reward - it was to be a full-time mom for daughters Angela and Lizabeth. We had joined the US Air Force! Judi was a marvelous cook and hostess as evidenced by the many times she served 30 plus folks in our home on holidays. We all marveled at her presentation, her concern about individual requests, and was adamant that the food was always piping hot. Her Christmas cookies were the best. Judi particularly loved babies and was treated to 5 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was particularly an expert with plants and enjoyed a passion for crafting and needlepointing. She loved her home in Creve Coeur and especially their log home “Pine Cone II” built on the beautiful shores of Bay Lake, MN. Twenty summers with family, pets, and friends put the icing on her dreams. She had followed her parents pioneering spirit on Bay Lake from 1941-1960’s. She was so proud and loved Dennis her husband, her children, Angela (Dawn) Bulgarelli and Lizabeth Trimble, her grandchildren, Katie (Michael) Hinck, Michael (Emily) Curtis, Maddie (Josh) Green, Justin Trimble, Andrew Trimble, Gabe and Ben Reynolds, and great grandchildren, Malachi Green and Harper Judith Hinck. Judi was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Florence Hedstrom, brothers Richard T. (Bette) Hedstrom, and Donald (Margarette) Hedstrom. Also, preceding Judi’s passing were Guido and Adelaide Bulgarelli (parents of Dennis). Judi leaves behind her loving family on her husband’s side, David Bulgarelli of Coralville, Iowa, Steve and Cindy Serkies of The Villages, Florida, and Don and Mindy Meeks of Houston, Texas. She also left behind many nieces and nephews and their children. Special mention must be made to her loyal and wonderful friend from New Hampshire Mass, Sister Mary Bernadette CMRI. And of course, her closest and dearest companion, Flossie the Goldendoodle. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 11, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Bopp Funeral Home, 10610 Manchester Road, Kirkwood, MO. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 12th, 10:00 am at Incarnate Word Church, 13416 Olive Blvd, Chesterfield, MO. Burial will follow at Bellerive Gardens, 740 N. Mason Road, Creve Coeur, MO. Donations in Judi’s name can be made to Saint Jude Hospital, Memphis, TN.
