Roy Troglin Obituary

Roy was born in Glendale, AZ, one of nine children. Affectionately known as “Senior” he is survived by his wife, Josephine, children Mike (Laura), Roy (Barbara), Mary Ann (Paul) and Barbara; eight grandchildren: Maigan (Jason), Ashley (Chase), Alayna, Fr. Aaron, Sarah, Kaitlyn (Matt), Taylor and Cassidy; eight great grandchildren: Nick, Madison, Colson, Harper, Brynn, Mario, Kaylee, and Olivia. At the age of 16, he enlisted in the US Navy. He was stationed in Hawaii, Great Lakes, IL, and California as a Hospital Corpsman. He did tours in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He also spent six months at sea on the USS Bon Homme Richard. It was in Great Lakes that he met his wife, Josephine. They were happily married for 63 years and had 4 children. After retiring from 20 years of service in the Navy, the family moved to Milwaukee where Roy began his career as an optician. After retiring as Regional Manager from House of Vision, Roy, Josephine, and daughter, Barbara, moved to Crestview, FL. Roy had no formal education, but he was a smart man. He designed and built their Florida lake home and could fix just about anything. Roy enjoyed fishing and golfing, which he did into his 70’s. He took care of the grounds at the golf course for many years. Roy and Josephine came full circle, moving back to Milwaukee three years ago. He loved Wisconsin sports teams: Packers, Badgers, Brewers, and Bucks. He had a passion for reading and crossword puzzles. Roy even enjoyed riding motorcycles back in the day. He was proud of and loved his family. He will be dearly missed. His family would like to thank all the staff at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center for their excellent care. Visitation Thursday, April 8th at the Harder Funeral Home from 8:00 am until 9:30 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at ST. DOMINIC CATHOLIC CHURCH, 18255 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield. Private family interment Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
