CHARLTON- Patricia (Thayer) Stevens, 94, of 88 Masonic Home Rd. passed away Friday, April 2, 2021 in her residence. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Raymond R. Stevens and her brother Stuart Thayer of Florida. Patricia leaves a son, Peter Stevens & his wife Deborah of Delaware; two daughters, Lee Stevens & her husband David Weyburne of Maynard, MA, and Sue Kruse & her husband Jack of Vermont; a sister, Connie Beemer of Florida; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Patricia was born in North Oxford the daughter of Walter Thayer & Helen (Reidel) Thayer. She was a graduate of Oxford Senior High School, Vassar, and attended Tufts University for Occupational Therapy. Patricia was an occupational therapist for two years before leaving the profession to raise her children. Later in life, she worked as the school librarian at the Burgess Elementary School in Sturbridge and as a librarian at the Joshua Hyde public library in Sturbridge. Patricia - or “Bug”, as she was known to her grandchildren - enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening, cooking, and birdwatching. She was a long time member of the Sturbridge Federated Church. Burial will be private for the family in North Cemetery in Sturbridge. Donations may be made to Overlook Hospice Services, 88 Masonic Home Rd., Charlton, MA 01507 or to the Sturbridge Federated Church Endowment, PO Box 193, Sturbridge, MA. Arrangements are under the care of Pillsbury Funeral Home, 3 West Brookfield Rd., Brookfield
