Orlando Cardenas "Landy" Norris Obituary

Orlando Cardenas Norris, 59, of New Windsor, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Sinai Hospital. Born November 20, 1961 in Westminster, he was the son of James Owens Norris, Jr., of Westminster and the late LaVaughn Elizabeth Sewell Norris. He was the loving husband of Cheron Loren Norris, his wife of 33 years. Orlando was a graduate of Westminster High School class of 1979. Orlando loved all sports. He was a member of International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO), Inc. as well as a referee of different sports for high schools over Carroll County. His passion for officiating led to him being chosen as an official during the 2012 Maryland state football championship and a host of other playoff games. Orlando was a hardcore spades player and enjoyed hosting infamous “card parties” at his home. Orlando also loved motorcycles, especially his 1999 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail Classic. The only thing bigger than his smile was his heart and his willingness to help others. Landy, as he was known to most, will be deeply missed by all. Surviving in addition to his wife are his cherished daughters Renee Elizabeth Norris and fiancé Erik Ross of New Windsor, and Toni Michelle Norris of New Windsor; brothers Torrance Norris and his wife Carmen of Pittsburgh, PA, Roderick Norris of Crofton, MD and Roderigues Norris and his wife Diana of San Antonio, TX; honorary brother Jeff Green of Frederick; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family. He was predeceased by his brother James Norris III.
