<p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Calvin William Cordray, age 96 of Jefferson City, formerly of Osage County, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.</span></span></strong></em></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Calvin was born May 20, 1924, in St. Louis, a son to the late Fred and Mary (Joachim) Cordray.</span></span></strong></em></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Calvin attended school in Osage County.&nbsp;</span></span></strong></em></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">On March 2, 1949, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Gens in St. Louis.&nbsp; She survives of the home.</span></span></strong></em></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Calvin worked as a truck driver and then worked for 22 years as an iron worker for the Corp of Engineers as well as raising registered Aberdeen Angus cattle and hay on the family farm.</span></span></strong></em></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">He was a member of Capital West Christian Church in Jefferson City. While living in Osage County he was a member of Oklahoma Church of Christ and a charter member of the Community Christian Church.&nbsp; Calvin was a member N.A.R.F.E. and a lifetime member of the Angus Association.</span></span></strong></em></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Calvin enjoyed working on the farm, gardening, and spending time with his family.</span></span></strong></em></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">In addition to his spouse of 72 years, Calvin is survived by: three daughters, Ruth Wheeler her husband Doug of The Villages, FL, Deborah Bardwell and her husband Tim of Jefferson City and Janice Whiteside and her husband Barry of Hardeeville, SC; one daughter-in-law, Tam Cordray of Turlock, CA; eight grandchildren, Callie Cordray, Lacy (Marco) Fossati, Jennifer (Terry) Gordon, Michael Bardwell, Stephanie Wheeler, John (Mary) Bardwell, Jonah (Lauren) Whiteside and Jordan Whiteside; twelve great grandchildren, Haleigh and Kendall Semones, Taylor, Lillian and Julianne Gordon, Tyler, Zachery, Kaleb, and Kaden Bardwell, Ashlyn Wheeler, Emma Johnson, and Grace Fossati and one due in May; as well as many nieces and nephews.</span></span></strong></em></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Herman Cordray, two brothers, and one sister.</span></span></strong></em></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday April 9, 2021, at the Capital West Christian Church Event Center 1315 Fairgrounds Road.&nbsp; Jefferson City, Mo.&nbsp; 65109.</span></span></strong></em></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></span></strong></em></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Capital West Christian Church Chair Fund, Show-Me Youth Christian Home at 24302 Mahin Road, La Monte, MO 65337 or Oklahoma Church Cemetery Fund.</span></span></strong></em></p>

Calvin William Cordray, age 96 of Jefferson City, formerly of Osage County, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Calvin was born May 20, 1924, in St. Louis, a son to the late Fred and Mary (Joachim) Cordray.

Calvin attended school in Osage County. 

On March 2, 1949, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Gens in St. Louis.  She survives of the home.

Calvin worked as a truck driver and then worked for 22 years as an iron worker for the Corp of Engineers as well as raising registered Aberdeen Angus cattle and hay on the family farm.

He was a member of Capital West Christian Church in Jefferson City. While living in Osage County he was a member of Oklahoma Church of Christ and a charter member of the Community Christian Church.  Calvin was a member N.A.R.F.E. and a lifetime member of the Angus Association.
