<p>Tuesday, March 30, 2021, Vera Mijatovic, wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and a great friend to many, passed away at the age of 43 after a courageous five-year battle with breast cancer. She went peacefully and was surrounded by loved ones and family.<br /> <br /> Vera is survived by her husband Ratko, loving children Duska and Stefan, mother Staka, grandmother Ljubica, brother Mladen, and several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.<br /> <br /> She was born August 2, 1977, in Livno, Bosnia and Hercegovina to late Dusan Sarac and Staka Sarac. She finished high school and her undergraduate studies in Bosnia. She moved to the United States in 2003, where she continued her education, graduating in 2007 with a Master of Business Administration from Duquesne University.<br /> <br /> Vera will be remembered for many things, her fun, easy-going spirit, her devotion to her family, her strength and braveness during cancer treatment, and her encouragement and kindness to others.<br /> <br /> The funeral service for Vera will be held at 11:00 a.m. by Fr. Michael Nasser on Friday, April 2, 2021, at St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, 2250 East Paris Avenue SE, Kentwood, MI 49546. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at church.<br /> <br /> Those wishing to offer an expression of sympathy are encouraged to make a memorial contribution in Vera's name to St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church.</p> <p>A Graveside service will be held 11 am. on Monday, April 5, 2021 at the Holy Trinity S.O.
