Donna Miller-Benjamin, 78, of New Haven, CT, passed away suddenly at home on Monday, March 29, 2021. She was born in New Haven, CT on May 1, 1942 to the late Brooks Miller and Mary Sherlock. She was predeceased by her husband Walter Benjamin. Throughout her life, Donna established a legacy of education, mentorship, encouragement, and support that she shared with her family, colleagues, students and others she encountered. She attended Wilbur Cross High School, graduating in 1960 and continued her educational journey to Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina. Donna also attended Wesleyan University in Middletown Connecticut, earning a Master’s Degree in Journalism in 1972. Donna was employed at the University of Connecticut for over thirty years serving as the Director of Upward Bound and the Educational Talent Search Programs until her retirement in 2005. Her companion, Coleman Vincent, stepdaughter Monique Benjamin-Walton, four granddaughters, many cousins, extended family and friends survived her. A Walk-Thru visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021from 10:00- 11:00AM at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT 06511. Celebration of her legacy will be private; Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 769 Ella T. Grasso Blvd, New Haven, CT.
