PRESQUE ISLE - Kathleen Geneva (Norberg) Bennett passed away Tuesday, March 30th, 2021. At a Presque Isle hospital. She was born December 10th, 1930 in Easton, Maine; the 11th child of George A .and Edna P. (Alward) Clark. She grew up on a farm in New Sweden, Maine and graduated from the Jemtland Grammar School, Caribou High School, and later The Aroostook School of Commence. After graduation; she was employed as a secretary with The Department of Health and Welfare in Caribou. While working in Caribou, she met Allan A. Bennett. They were later married and moved Presque Isle where they raised their two sons; Arthur Allan (Chip) Bennett and Richard Eric Bennett. Kathleen had left her job while raising her boys, and later returned to work when they were older. She worked as a secretary for the A.C.A.P. Head start program. Kathleen was very involved in many organizations including: The Maysville Center Grange, The Mother’s club at O.T.C.; Corporative Extension, the Evening Guild and the Post-Polio Support Group. She was a long time member of the New Sweden (Evangelical) Covenant Church and served in many positions and on many committees. She also taught Sunday school for many years. She was predeceased by her Parents and her adoptive Parents; Eric and Clara Norberg. Also; her 10 siblings, her son; Arthur Allan “Chip” Bennett and her Husband; Allan Arthur Bennett. She is survived by her Son; Richard Eric Bennett of Presque Isle, Her Sister in-law; Ann B Wight and many Nieces and Nephews as well as Grand Nieces and Nephews. A visitation from 12-1pm will be held at the Covenant Church of New Sweden on Saturday, July 10, 2021 where a memorial service will be held at 1pm. Kathleen’s Family would like to thank: Leisure Village, Professional Home Nursing, and Northern Light A.R. Gould for the excellent care she received. Donations in Kathleen’s name can be made to: The New Sweden Covenant Church, Pine Tree Camp and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home and the Covenant Church.
