Edmund Joe Gion, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on March 8, 2021, surrounded by his family. Mr. Gion was born in Altheimer, Arkansas, in 1929. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and then worked at the Aberdeen Proving Ground as a physicist at the Ballistic Research Lab until his retirement. He was the devoted husband of the late Irene Chan Gion, who passed away on January 19, 2021. He was the loving father of Alan C. Gion (Helga Schoeman), Lisa G. Peters (Thomas), and Timothy C. Gion (Yan Jiang), and grandfather of Erin and Elena Peters and Nathan and Sophia Gion. He was the brother of Grace Toh (deceased), Susie Yium, Leland Gion and Alice Joe. Mr. Gion enjoyed woodworking, biking, listening to classical music, and discussing science, current events and finance. Services will be private.
