Mrs. Kristen Marie Andrews, 53 of Abingdon, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, March 29, 2021 at home.

She was born July 21, 1967 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of Lenny and Carol Ann (Grundmann) Schwartz.  She married Craig DiMaggio on May 6, 1989 in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.  She later married Chad Andrews on September 18, 2004 at their home in Abingdon, Illinois.

Kristen is survived by her loving husband, Chad; her mother, Carol Ann Schwartz of Louisiana; three sons, Justin DiMaggio of Davenport, Iowa, Josh DiMaggio of Louisiana and Jacob Andrews of Arkansas; one daughter, Megan Andrews of Arkansas; and three brothers, Craig, Kyle and Eric Schwartz all of Louisiana.  She was preceded in death by her father.

She graduated from John Curtis Christian School in 1985 and attended Nichols State University in Louisiana.  She was of the Catholic Faith and was a homemaker.  She enjoyed listening to music and watching American Idol, America’s Got Talent, Dancing with the Stars and a few other reality TV shows.  Kristen loved going for car rides in the country and she loved all animals.  She enjoyed cooking and made sure nobody around her went hungry.  One of her favorites places to eat was Jaliscos. 

Kristen had a heart of Gold and if you needed help, she would do all she could to assist you.  She loved her daddy very much and her mother was her sunshine.  Kristen loved her kids and she loved to laugh and have a good time.  And, she always made sure you knew she was from New Orleans.

Cremation will be accorded.  To celebrate her life, her family will receive relatives and friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the Abingdon American Legion Post #381, 546 Illinois Route 41, Abingdon, IL 61410.  Due to Covid-19 Pandemic, face masks will be required along with social distancing and attendance guidelines.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting her family with arrangements.
