<p>BILLY TATUM STUDDARD, 74, of Piedmont, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in Munford, AL.&nbsp; He was born in Cherokee County, AL to Tatum Monroe and Flora Grace McCloud Studdard, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Langley&nbsp; Studdard, brother, Houston Studdard, and sister, Barbara Hall.</p> <p>Billy served in the US Army during Vietnam and earned the rank of Seargent. He was an expert rifleman, toured EURA- Germany, received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ Device, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, Army Commendation Medal, Air Medal, Bronze Star, Army Expeditionary Medal, Purple Heart, Combat and Infrantryman Badge. &nbsp;After leaving the military, he became a truck driver. He was a member of the DAV and Sandy Creek Baptist Church.</p> <p>Survivors include his wife, Becky Braddock Studdard; &nbsp;children: Becky Lynn (Dale) Johnson; Billy Ray (Samantha) Studdard, Brian Lee (Denina) Studdard, Gina (Kevin) Johnson, and Colton (Caitlin Barnard)&nbsp; Grammer; brothers: Mack (Carolyn) Studdard and Larry (&nbsp; Sheila ) Studdard; sister: Catherine Terry; &nbsp;sister in law: Dorthy Studdard; &nbsp;13 grandchildren; 9&nbsp; great grandchildren; and chosen grandchildren: NatRae, Weston, and Waylon; several nieces and nephews.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <p>Visitation will be Friday, April 2, 2021 at Dansby Heritage Chapel from 6-8 PM.&nbsp; Funeral Service will be Saturday, April 3 at 11:00 AM from Dansby Heritage Chapel with Rev. Brent Poole officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow, with Military Honors, Philadelphia Cemetery, Piedmont.</p> <p>Pallbearers will be Colton Grammer, Kevin Johnson, Kale Nelson, Jeff Studdard, Derrick Phillips, and Dustin Phillips. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Billy&rsquo;s name to St. Jude Children&rsquo;s Hospital.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>The family would like to offer their special thanks to Lori and Senator Burr of North Carolina for their help in getting Billy back home to Alabama.</p> <p>Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Studdard Family.</p>

BILLY TATUM STUDDARD, 74, of Piedmont, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in Munford, AL.  He was born in Cherokee County, AL to Tatum Monroe and Flora Grace McCloud Studdard, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Langley  Studdard, brother, Houston Studdard, and sister, Barbara Hall.
