ERVINE THERESA LATIMER was born in Philadelphia, PA; she was the oldest child of her deceased mother Dorothy Latimer. As a child Ervine attended a private school in Ardmore, Pa. After successfully completing the private school she attended West Philadelphia High School where she graduated. She then furthered her education in 1972 and attended Towson State College in Maryland. In the early 90's Ervine became married to Dale Roberts and through this union they adopted a daughter Olivia M. Roberts. Ervine loved her daughter and gave her a good private school education and saw to it that she attended College and insured that she got the best grades possible. She cared for her daughter as if she was her own from birth. She worked for various healthcare providers for many years. Her last place of employment was Horizon House in 2004 where she was a Residential Advisor, for many years until her illness prevented her from working. She loved children and began providing care as a foster parent. Her last known religious affiliation was Jehovah Witness. Even though she was ill she would invite some of her sisters in the congregation to come and study at her house. Ervine loved to travel, attending musical concerts and stage plays. She also enjoyed giving garden parties and loved to cook for both family and friends. She entertained family and friends alike with her sense of humor and unique charm. She leaves to mourn: her husband, Dale Roberts; a daughter, Olivia M. Roberts; a granddaughter, Mekenzie M. Pemberton; five brothers, John J. Latimore, David J. Ghee, William Torian, Lathan Torian and Mervine Torain; three sisters-in-law, Beth Ghee, Monica Torain and Rose Torain; three sisters, Bernadette, Cynthia and Irissa Torain. Also surviving her are three aunts, numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special god parenting family to her daughter, Charles and Sheila Rowe; and a host of friends.
