Stewart G. Snedeker

Stewart Glenn Snedeker, 62, of Paris, Illinois, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was an over the road truck driver for many years, and had also worked for fifteen years in the sign shop of District Five of the Illinois Department of Transportation. He was born September 30, 1953, in Clinton, Indiana, the son of the late Paul L. and Patricia A. (Powers) Snedeker. Survivors include a daughter, Heather Kay (Shawn) Bladel of Rockford, Illinois; a brother, Josiah "Josh" (Tiffany) Snedeker of Chrisman, Illinois; two sisters, Donna Klopfenstein of Gridley, Illinois, and Paula Nicholson of Paris, Illinois; six grandchildren, Alexi, Hunter, Caleb, Skylar, Kiam, and Sydney Mary Jane Bladel; and several nieces and nephews. Stew was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Paris and Post #211 Sons of the American Legion. He will be remembered as a big-hearted man who loved music and was happiest when helping others, whether volunteering for a fundraiser or brightening a child's Christmas as one of "Santa's helpers." For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to Christmas for Kids. SERVICE INFORMATION A memorial service was conducted at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2015, at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris, with Pastor Jerry Klug officiating. Visitation was from 2 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be private in Vermilion Cemetery at a later date.
