Edward Arnold Berkenkemper, 91, previously of Webster Springs, W.V., resided with his daughter in Hampstead, MD. He went home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2021. Born December 28, 1929 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Edward Olaf and Marion (Hubbard) Berkenkemper and the loving husband of the late Phyllis June Harrison Berkenkemper. Ed served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. Before he retired, he worked as a painter for Porter Brothers Construction Company. He was a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church in Bolair, WV and attended services at Hampstead Baptist Church. Ed’s favorite past time was working on his paint by numbers and he enjoyed participating in Hampstead’s Music in the Park concerts. Survived by his son, Mitchell Berkenkemper and wife Andrea of Winchester, VA.; his three daughters: Tammi Ledley and husband Bill of Hampstead, MD; Cathy Schrader and husband Jim of Cross Lanes, WV; Terry Berkenkemper of Hagerstown, MD; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the Morris Funeral Home 160 Railroad Ave W., Cowen, WV with graveside service immediately following at WV Memorial Gardens 146 Little Beaver Road, Calvin, WV.
