Patsy Sue West Barber, 70, formerly of Meta, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2021 at Jefferson City Manor Care Center. She was born on September 17, 1950, a daughter of the late Robert and Lillie (Meiburger) West. Patsy attended Maries County R-1 schools and later went on to obtain her Associate’s Degree. Patsy lived for her grandchildren, the lights of her life. Known as “Grandma Pat Pat”, she was very proud to be a grandmother. She was known for her impeccable cooking skills, including her “magic cookie bars” and the best fried chicken around. Aside from her time spent with family, Patsy enjoyed many crafts, especially embroidery. She loved to color and her trips to the zoo. She was proud of her family and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son: R. Duane Belk of Centertown; daughters: Jodi (Jr.) Polly of Gravois Mills and Rebecca (Dayton) Butler of Milan; brothers: Arlin West and Lloyd West; sister: Sherry West; 9 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: John West and Roy West; and sister: Judy Mace. A celebration of Patsy’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of the donor’s choice.
