Allan Baumgartner, 48, Strasburg, ND died unexpectedly of natural causes at home, doing what he loved, taking care of his cattle. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg, ND. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Myers Funeral Home and continue from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the church in Strasburg where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Allan was born in Bismarck, ND on June 25, 1968, the son of John P. and Phyllis (Bosch) Baumgartner.  He grew up on the family and graduated from Strasburg High School in 1986. Allan took to farming, a 4th generation farmer. He with his brother John Jay they milked cows, raised hogs, broke horses, raised cattle, put up hay and farmed the fields. He worked with Doc Janecek at the sale barn, hauled hay for Ron Dykema, worked for Terry Scherr, hauled cement for Linton and Herreid Concrete and many many other odd jobs. Allan married Amanda Theisgen on June 11, 2005 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and together made their home on the family farm. Allan was an active member of the Beaver Valley Horse Club, Strasburg Fire Department and within the Catholic Church. He loved every single animal that was ever born, bought, or raised on the farm.  He also loved to play cards, sing and was a real Macgyver. He was the best truck driver who ever stepped foot on this earth.  He was always willing to help out wherever help was needed.  Allan Cherished his five children and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for them. He had a close knit family who were very important to him. Allan is survived by his wife, Amanda; five children, Katherine 16, Faith 14, Mary 10, Rose 9, and Michael 6, all of Strasburg; his parents, John P. and Phyllis Baumgartner, Strasburg; siblings Cathy (Norman) Ackerman, Bismarck, Dina Baumgartner, Bismarck, Cindy (Jay) Vetter, Milwaukee, OR, Laura (Ron) Holzer, Linton, John Jay Baumgartner, Strasburg, Betty (Michael) Samuelson, Portland, OR; his father-in-law, Andy Theisgen and Special Friend Barb King, Strasburg; Grandmother in-law, Mary Francis Theisgen, Strasburg; Mother-in-law Debbie (Jon) Meredith, Burbank, CA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary, his grandparents, Ignatz and Barbara Bosch and Damian and Katherine Baumgartner and several aunts and uncles.
