Emma Emily Lively Obituary

Emma Emily Lively, 85, daughter of the late Frances Gladys and Charles McKinley Lively was born in Worton Point, Maryland, on Friday, October 11, 1935.  She departed this life on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at the Christiana Hospital, Newark, Delaware. Emma was educated in Kent County, Maryland, and graduated from Henry Highland Garnet High School in 1953.  Emma was employed at Campbell Soup Company, Chestertown, Maryland, for 22 years, retiring in April 1995.   Emma was a faithful, active and dedicated member of St. George United Methodist Church, Worton Point, Maryland, where she served and worked diligently in the following organizations:  Usher Board President, Sunday School Superintendent, Commission on Education, Nominating, Administrative Council, SPRC, Trustee, Finance Committees and United Methodist Women. Emma's special hobbies were watching TV, especially the westerns, game shows, basketball and football. She was a huge, avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles, like her father.  She loved putting puzzles together, doing crossword puzzles, and especially talking on the phone to her family and friends. Emma was a fantastic cook. Some of her favorite dishes were fried chicken, crab cakes, potato salad, sweet potatoes and vegetable beef soup. Emma was a loving mother, mom-mom, sister, aunt, cousin, neighbor and friend. Emma was very caring; always putting others first before herself and truly was concerned about people. She would always ask you, “How are you doing?” Emma was a giver in so many ways. If you needed help, she would do what she could to assist you. In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by five brothers, George A. Hynson, Sr, Vincent, Charles, Weldon and Anthony Lively; and three sisters, Addie Lively, Joan Freeman and Frances Saunders. Emma leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Dorvonda Warren and Mara Tolliver, both of Middletown, DE; two granddaughters, Jaleesa Warren and Mariah Warren; two sisters, Tannie Price, Wilmington, DE and Lucy Minerva Lively, Worton Point, MD; one brother, Robert "Wayne" Lively (Gwendolyn), Jenkintown, PA; sister-in-law, Linda Lively, Palm Coast, FL; special friends, which include, best friend, Margaret Ann Wallace and classmate, Gloria Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
