Howard Lee Witte, 89, of Rhineland, MO, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021 at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis,  Missouri. 
 
Howard was born in Jonesburg, Missouri on March 2, 1932, the son of the late Fred Christian & Lillian Mae (Phillips) Witte.
 
Howard was united in marriage to Virginia Maxine Wiss on October 12, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri.  To this union 13 children were born.  Howard & Maxine shared over 70 wonderful years of marriage together.  
 
Howard was a member of Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, Missouri, the Knights of Columbus, Television Association and National Corvair Club.  He was the owner & operator of Witte TV since 1953, from which he never fully retired.
 
Howard is survived by his wife, Maxine Witte, of the home; a son, Steve Witte & companion Minnie Humphrey, of Fulton, Missouri; a daughter, Janet Cobb & husband Dave, of Montgomery City, Missouri; a daughter, Jo Ann Mattingly & husband Dave, of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; a son, John Witte & wife Jeanie, of Hermann, Missouri; a daughter, Mary Ellen McCleary, of Jefferson City, Missouri; a son, Keith Witte & wife Sheila, of Hermann, Missouri; a daughter, Linda Ochs & husband Greg, of Lee's Summit, Missouri; a son, Brad Witte & wife Susan, of Fenton, Missouri; a  daughter, Tina Hartzell & husband Scott, of Santa Fe, New Mexico; a son, Mike Witte & wife Cheryl, of Wentzville, Missouri; a son, Tim Witte, of Forest Hill, Maryland; by 30 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.  
 
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sons, David & Phillip Witte, a daughter-in-law, Debra Witte, a son-in-law, Robert McCleary, two brothers, Harry and Robert Witte and a half-sister, Ruby Painter.
 
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, where a funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Monsignor Gregory Higley officiating. 
 
Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery,  Rhineland, Missouri.  Memorials may be given to Autism Speaks, St. Joseph Cemetery or the National Kidney Foundation.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
