Nicole Diane Martin, age 40, of Battle Creek died Saturday, January 28, 2017. Nicole was born in Coldwater the daughter of Diane Barrington. She was a graduate of Tekonsha High School, class of 1995. While her children were young, Nicole operated a child daycare out of her home. Other employment included working at several area restaurants. Nikki married Ryan Martin in March 2004. Though the marriage ended in divorce, their devotion to their children was their main focus. Nicole enjoyed staying active and spending time outside in nature. Her true passion in life was her two boys. She was always eager to talk to her friends about her sons and share their accomplishments. She enjoyed the time that they spent together and working on crafts. Nichole loved animals especially dogs. She is survived by sons, Jeryn Martin and Josh Martin both of Homer; former husband, Ryan Martin of Homer; grandmother, Gladys Barrington of Marshall; aunts, Judith (Roger) Bullock of Portage and Melinda Hartman of Lafayette, IN; and numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother, Diane Barrington; grandfather, Richard Barrington and uncle, Richard "Butch" Barrington Jr. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Craig K. Kempf Family Funeral Homes, Marshall Chapel. A funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Friday at the funeral home. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to her children's education.
