Jesse Leroy Leary Obituary

Jesse Leroy Leary was born in Boston, MA on January 24, 1965. He was the son of Jesse Leary SR, of SC and the late Maude Frances Leary of Utica, NY. Jesse attended Madison Park high school, and later worked as a mechanic. Jesse suddenly passed away on March 7, 2021. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Jesse was known to many as Uncle Jr. (even if you weren't related). Jesse is survived by two children, Tyrone and Jestina, and his daughter-in-law, Melissa, six grandchildren, Alyssa, Anija, Tyrone Jr., Avonte, Avery and Ayan-Aries. Jesse had six siblings, Eddie Johnson of SC, Brenda Simmons, the late Frances Leary, Sondra Leary, Jaclyn Allen, and J. Timothty Leary all of Boston. Jesse also left behind a host of nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great- nephews, and a host of aunts and uncles, and also the love of his life, the late Carolyn Hicks. Growing up Jesse had a passion for fixing cars; he was known as the community mechanic to everyone. Jesse was always a phone call away to his nieces and nephews and close friends. Jesse offered to help almost anybody; if you asked him “everyone was his friend”. If you knew uncle Jr. then you would know when he yelled “shoe” he wasn't talking about the one on your foot, but that he was talking about his nephew Pierre. When uncle Jr. heard someone yell out “Dirty Dirt” he knew it was coming from his sister Brenda. Jesse also had a special relationship with his sister Sondra, even though they fought like an old married couple. In conversations uncle Jr. would always state that he doesn't know what he would do without his sister. So if you've ever heard him refer to her as an old dog, you know why.
