Obituary

William D. Watkins, 35, of Nanticoke, was called home to the Lord peacefully in the night Tuesday, March 16, 2021.

Bill was born on a very snowy and cold Feb. 8, 1986, to Carlene Simon and William Watkins Jr. He graduated in 2004 from Bishop O'Reilly High School, Kingston, where he enjoyed playing on the Queensmen football and basketball teams. He was #11.

Most recently, he was employed at Steve's Tires, Wilkes-Barre. Bill had many interests and worked in various positions throughout his life, a Jack-of-all-trades. Bill loved landscaping and working with his hands. He had many talents, especially when it came to art and writing. A talent he shared with his son, Carter.

Bill's favorite thing to do anytime, anywhere was spending time with his "Bestest Bud-D," his son, Carter Watkins. They always had fun! They taught each other much. They shared the love of art and music, movies, creating anime drawings, reading good books, fishing, camping, biking, among other things.

Bill was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William D. Watkins Sr.; maternal uncle, Abraham Simon; paternal uncles, William and Leroy Trudgen.

Bill is survived by his heartbroken mother, Carlene Simon Miller (Gary Gaughan); his father, William Watkins Jr. (Angela Watkins); grandparents, Abraham and Bernadine Simon; Marie Watkins; aunts, Leann Booth; Deann Parry (Austin, Miranda, Mitch); Mary Beth Watkins (Autumn, Aaron, Taylor); Debbie Trudgen; uncles, Bernie Simon (Libby, Joshua, A.J., Willow); Joseph Simon (Jacob, Talia); and James Trudgen.

Bill also left behind a lot of friends he loved as family. He loved with his whole heart and tried to help those he could. He was a good man and will be sorely missed.

I know how much you loved us all, Bill, and even if we all didn't say it enough, We love you to way up to the moon and beyond! God bless and I'll see you when God calls me home. XOXO

A service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday from Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson St., Larksville. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to service time.
