Leo Kiemnec, Jr.

Leo Kiemnec Jr, 101, of La Grande, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016. A Memorial Service will be held at Loveland Funeral Chapel on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 10:00am. Leo was born February 6, 1915 in South Bend, Indiana to Leo and Hattie (Nalazek) Kiemnec Sr. He lived most of his life in Indiana, with his last years spent in Hawaii and La Grande, Oregon. He worked for the Studebaker Corporation and as a machinist for Elkhart Products in Indiana. He served our country in WWII in North Africa and Italy and was honorably discharged as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. Leo is survived by his sons, Gary of La Grande, OR and Gregory of Kaneohe, HI; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve.
