Marie Mayer

Marie "Haag" Mayer, 71, of Whiting, died peacefully on April 16, 2016, with her loving family at her side. Born in Newark, she lived many years in Linden before moving to Whiting. Mrs. Mayer had been employed in the billing department with Verizon in Cranford, formerly known as Bell Atlantic, for over 30 years before retiring. Marie is predeceased by her husband Leonard and recently by her son Jason. Surviving are four children, Leonard Mayer and his wife Susan, Jamie Mayer, Melissa Canfield and her husband Lynn and Kelly Masterson and her husband Greg; also eight grandchildren, Tiana, Leonard 5th, Alexa, Roxanne, Aliya, Dilynn, Abigail and Aidan. Also surviving are two siblings, Jackie Bastardo and Joseph Haag. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, Apr. 19th, from 6pm to 9pm at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. On Wednesday, relatives and friends please meet at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Road, Bayville to celebrate a 9:30am Funeral Mass.
