Avis I. Magnuson, age 83 of Litchfield died on January 14, 2017 at the Meeker Manor in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Church of the Nazarene in Litchfield. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 19th at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Burr Oak Cemetery north of Grove City. Avis Ione Magnuson, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Weber) Carlberg, was born on March 13, 1933, in Union Grove Township, Minnesota. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1951. On May 8, 1954, she was united in marriage to Marlyn "Bud" Magnuson at the Church of the Nazarene in Litchfield. They made their home in Litchfield. She was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene where she taught Vacation Bible School and was president of the missionary group. Avis liked cookies, McDonalds, painting, drawing, and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed going for drives, the annual camping trips and all of the activities at Meeker Manor. Avis is survived by her children Lynn (John) Dylla of Buffalo, MN, Chuck (Judy) Magnuson of Litchfield, MN, Dan Magnuson of Buffalo, MN, Ron Magnuson of Litchfield, MN, Tim Magnuson of Litchfield, MN, Julie (David) Gossel of Litchfield, MN;17 grandchildren Jason, Jacob and Jesse Dylla, Ryan and Mitchell Magnuson, Danielle Dorn, Kylie, Colton and Dylan Magnuson, Brenna Bermel, MacKenzie and Noah Magnuson, Amanda Magnuson, Beth Wig, Emily Riemersa, Sarah Rueter and Heather Gossel; 15 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bud; sisters Lorraine and Loretta Carlberg; brothers-in-law Rufus Paul and Earl "Bud" Welch and nephew Jim Paul.
