John W. Omli, 72, of Salina and formerly of Brookville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019. He was born July 8, 1947, to Tobias and Alice Omli in Chatham, N.J. He married Bernice (Kejr), of Brookville, on Aug. 8, 1968, in Salina. He was a graduate of Kansas Wesleyan University and Missouri Auction School. As owner of Omli and Associates Inc., he served Central Kansas through rural real estate sales and auctions for 37 years. He was a Jesus follower and prayer warrior and actively looked for ways to encourage those around him. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Bernice; children, Tom Omli (Susie), of Brookville, David Omli (Denise), of Goddard, Charity Bathurst (Jeff), of Abilene, and Maria Mills (Lane), of Salina; grandchildren, Tate (Kristin), Toby, Sesely and Sydney Omli, Macy, Chance, Trey, Hayes and Harli Omli, Emma, Annie, Alice, Eden, Wyatt and Wade Bathurst, and DeLaney, Lincoln, Declan, Zander, Londyn and Zaylee Mills; sister, Joan Kurtz (Bob), of Greensboro, N.C.; brother, Allan Omli (Pat), of Winston-Salem, N.C.; brothers-in-law, Al Zink, of Eagle River, Alaska, Steve Kejr (Carol), of Sebring, Fla., Larry Kejr (Susan), of Salina, Mel Kejr (Janet), of Salina, and Joe Kejr (Geena), of Brookville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Allan Omli; in-laws, Harry and Rosella Kejr; and sister-in-law, Rosalie (Kejr) Zink. Visitation with family will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Celebration of his life will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at First Covenant Church, Salina, with burial to follow at 2:30 p.m. in Brookville Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators, SIM International or Kansas Auctioneers Association Scholarship Fund, in care of Ryan Mortuary.
