Barbara Hendrix Boudro Obituary

Barbara Hendrix Boudro, 90, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in Nacogdoches. Barbara was born on April 26, 1927, the daughter of Virgil Good and Irene Lafferty Good. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Big Sandy Community Church in Big Sandy, Texas with Bro. John Spurgeon and Rev. Rex Hendrix officiating. Interment will follow at Big Sandy Cemetery in Polk County. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 5:00PM - 7:00PM at Laird Funeral Home in Nacogdoches. A visitation will also be held prior to service time at Big Sandy Community Church from 1:00PM until service time.

Mrs. Boudro was born and raised in Fostoria, Ohio and moved to Houston as a teenager. While in Houston, she proudly worked at the train station during World War II, which was located where Minute Maid Park is currently. Barbara absolutely adored being in Texas, and often referred to herself as being the "Northerner" who married a "Southerner" and learned how to make biscuits and gravy, fry squirrel and deer, as well as make dog-mush for the hounds. She was a very talented seamstress and had a green thumb when it came to plants and gardening. There wasn't a thing she couldn't grow. Her favorite things in life was her family and she was loved by anyone who met her. However, her most treasured moments were with her children and grandchildren. She was known as "Babs" due to her initials being B.A.B. Mrs. Barbara had a quick wit about her and constantly kept everyone around her laughing. She enjoyed people and loved with all her heart; even her caregivers became family.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Ray Hendrix and wife, Bonnie of New Hampshire; daughters, Linda Gilcrease and husband, Patrick of Nacogdoches and Diane Frederick and husband, Malcom of Lake Jackson; brother, Howard Good of Diboll; sister-in-law, Lois Lilley Tanner of Big Sandy; grandchildren, Melissa Morris, Jennifer Lee, Kenilyn Downs, Aaron Gilcrease, Dana Daigle, and Amber Stephenson; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Howard "Beaver" Hendrix; brother, Jimmy Good; sister, Dorothy Good; and spouses, Zaran Hendrix and L. Bruntze Boudro.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Morris, Justin Hindsman, Andrew Morris, Rodger Lee, Malcolm Frederick and Aaron Gilcrease.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Downs, Colton Clark, Cody Lee, and Logan Smith.

Donations may be made in Mrs. Boudro's memory to Accolade Hospice 2708 University Drive #100, Nacogdoches, TX 75965 or Big Sandy Community Church 9573 County Line Road, Livingston, TX 77351.
