Bertie Mae Britton, 100, of Timpson, Texas passed away on December 20, 2020 in Carthage, Texas. Born April 2, 1920, in Timpson, Texas she is the daughter of the late John W. Harris and Ella (Culberson) Harris. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 3PM at Dixon Cemetery, Timpson, Texas, with Bro. Carroll Jones officiating.

Bertie Mae was born and raised in Shelby County. She graduated Timpson High School. She married her best friend, Garland Britton, on December 12, 1937. Bertie enjoyed quilting. She spent many hours quilting with the RSVP quilting group in Timpson. She was a member of Ladies Auxillary at Corinth Church in Timpson. Bertie enoyed fellowship with others, and was a friend to everyone. She loved the Lord and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, Timpson.

She is survived by her daugher in law, Debbra Britton of Carthage, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends that will miss her dearly.

Bertie is preceded in death by her husband, Garland Britton; parents, John and Ella Harris; son, Ronnie Britton; and brother, Lovis Harris.
