Christine L. Martin Obituary

Peabody - Christine L. Martin, 100, of Peabody, passed away in her sleep on March 8, 2021, after a short illness. She was one of 8 children, born and raised in Lynn, Mass., daughter of the late Mary (Moskovites) and Arthur Georges. Chris had been a devoted wife to the late Daniel J. Martin, of Peabody. Throughout her working life, Chris was employed at the Registry in Boston and several Civil Service jobs, retiring in 1983. In past years, Chris enjoyed traveling with her husband, going to Foxwoods, and enjoying dinners at unique eateries. In her later years, she was an avid reader and enjoyed watching “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy,” playing games and doing puzzles. She could recite poetry from memory and had a wry and witty sense of humor. Chris is survived (and will be sorely missed) by her loving sister, Helen Lampes, of Lynn, several caring nieces and nephews: Janice Koskey of Lynn, Maryanne Koskey of Florida, Pamela Koskey (Joseph) of Hawaii, Anthony Martin of Peabody, Walter Martin (Elizabeth) of Pelham, NH, Mary Walsh (Thomas) of Peabody, James Lampes (Laura) of Danvers and her godchild Christine Green (Scott) of Hamilton. She was predeceased in death by her adoring husband, Danny and her son, Daniel (“Timmy”) Martin. All are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial which will be held at St. Ann Church, 140 Lynn Street, Peabody, on Saturday, March 13th at 10:00 a.m. All attendees are required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines. Arrangements by the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army, 1 Franklin Street, Lynn, Mass., https://give.salvationarmy.org/give/173572/#!/donation/checkout in honor of Christine Martin and the grateful Georges and Martin families who received their kindness as children.
