On March 3rd, 2021 death obeyed the command of God and called the spirit of Mrs. Bertha Crump - Wade, She obeyed and surrendered to the call.

Bertha Crump - Wade, "Red" as she was affectionately called, was born in Cuthbert, GA on July 6th, 1946. She was the 9th child born to the union of the late Arthur Lee and Toby Mae Burks. 

At an early age she confessed to Christ and joined the Benevolence Baptist Church. She later became a member of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church. 

Bertha graduated from Henderson High, in Cuthbert GA. She attended Albany State University and from there she moved to Cincinnati, OH where she met Walter Lee. Crump, they were married and blessed with 3 children. She later united with Mamadou Wade and lived happily for 20 yrs.

Bertha was preceded in death by, four brothers, Mr. Arthur James Burks, Mr. Moses Burks, Mr. Eddie Burks and Mr. Curlie Lee Burks, two sisters, Ms. Rose Marie Burks and Mrs. Beulah Walton.

She leaves to cherish her memories Mamadou Wade, Husband. Two son's  Anthony Burks (Tammy), Walter Crump (Tameka) and one daughter Cindy Crump-Stephens (Alex) all of Cincinnati, Ohio. Beloved Friend Booker T. Shorter, Cuthbert, GA. Three brothers, Roy Burks (Martha), Johnny Burks (Doris), Floyd Burks (Dorothy), Cuthbert Georgia, four sisters, Susie Burks-Sy (Abdourahmane), Cincinnati, Ohio, Janie Edwards (James), Lillie (Lucious), Cuthbert, Ga, Carolyn Lewis (Tommie), Columbus, Ga. and Sister-In Love, Lula Burks,  Cincinnati, Ohio. and best friend of 50+ years Callie Sherman; 14 Grand Children,7 Great GrandChildren and a village of treasured Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Friday, March 12, 2021, at the Walker Funeral Home, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Everyone attending must wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.

In keeping with the Covid-19 Pandemic restrictions masks are required in order to enter  the service and social distancing must be practiced.  Please be prepared to comply for the safety of all.
