Patricia Ann Metzger

<p>Patricia A. &ldquo;Patty&rdquo; Metzger entered into Life Triumphant, for the long awaited meeting of her Lord and Savior, face to face. She passed into Glory March 3, 2021. After a long battle with Congestive Heart Failure, she was diagnosed in July of 2015, fought a long and hard battle and died of complications. She fought this as long as she could with the support of family, friends, nurses at the Inn at Winchester Trail and Capital City Hospice.<br /> <br /> Patricia graduated from Lancaster High School in 1947. She graduated from the Lancaster School of Nursing in 1950. She spent the last 10 years of her career teaching nursing at the Hocking Technical College in Nelsonville. OH. Patricia was confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lancaster, OH. Over the years, she attended Gloryland Nazarene and Fairfield Christian Church. After retirement Patricia and her late husband returned to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where she enjoyed fishing and social gatherings with her friends and family. Patricia never met a stranger. After returning to Ohio, Patricia enjoyed attending Ohio State Football games where she could cheer on &ldquo;her&rdquo; buckeyes. Her favorite teams were Ohio State and whoever was playing that team up North. She enjoyed reading, spending time with family and friends, sewing, quilting, cards and watching the Hallmark Channel. Most of all she loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be dearly missed.<br /> <br /> She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William E. &ldquo;Gene&rdquo; Metzger. She is survived by daughter, Janine (Timothy) Kerwood; son, Jon Metzger; granddaughter, Sheena (Scott) Metzger; brother, James (Barbara) Butts; sister-in-law, JoAnn Lescalleet of Missouri; nieces, Joanna (David) Hoag, Jennifer and Kelly Butts; special friends, Mary Lou Creed, Tracy Ward, Terry Allwine and Steve Durasen, many relatives and friends. Family and friends may visit 12-2:00pm and 4-6:00pm on Sunday, March 7, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St. Canal Winchester, OH 43110. A funeral service will begin at 11:00am on Monday, March 8, at the funeral home.
