James Thornton

Jim Thornton Lyman, SC James Thornton, 74, of Lyman, passed away on Thursday March 4, 2021. Born on December 28, 1946, he was the son of the late Robert Thornton and France Raines Thornton and the husband of Jane Lancaster Thornton for forty-one years. Jim was a welder for Jennings and Dill for over 20 years and retired from South Carolina Steel. Survivors also include four children, Bobby Thornton and wife Sherry of Greer, Angie Eubanks and husband, Tommy of Inman, Mitchell Henderson and wife Laurie of Taylors, and Joey Henderson and wife Lori of Greer; a brother Mark Thornton and wife Trish of Simpsonville; a sister Wanda Rainey and husband, Kenneth of Travelers Rest; ten grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
